RE: New Arrangement with Carillion
Minister McGarry,
I am writing to you today regarding the collapse of Carillion PLC and the concerns residents are rightfully raising about the continuation of the services your government has contracted Carillion Canada to carry out. In your statement following the collapse of Carillion PLC you mentioned that you have entered into a new “arrangement” with Carillion Canada. In the interest of transparency I am requesting a copy of that arrangement.
Specifically, I would like to know how this new arrangement ensures that Ontario roads will be properly salted and cleared. Additionally, what money, guarantees or other support did the government offer to secure this new arrangement?
As Carillion Canada has just received bankruptcy protection, would you also let my office and the public know if any government agencies or ministries are currently owed money by Carillion Canada?
