TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO:
Whereas, since the election of the Ford government in June of 2018, the province of Ontario has witnessed repeated cuts to our core public services; and
Whereas, this government has made the callous decision to cut 10,000 teachers from our classrooms, severely undermining the quality of education in the province; and
Whereas, this government continues to make cuts to our healthcare system and ignore the issue of hallway medicine, including allowing a nearly 40 hour average wait time at our Niagara Falls hospital;
Whereas, the Ford government has cut funding for Indigenous affairs, environmental protection, arts and culture, legal aid, social assistance and affordable housing;
And Whereas, the Ford government gave a 14% wage increase to their top staff;
Therefore, we the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows: That the Ford government immediately reverse their callous cuts and start investing in the people of Ontario, not giving wage increases to friends in government and handouts to big business.
